Another Ruined Birthday
Tomorrow was Ashley's 18th birthday and her mother was taking them to Rome for vacation. At least that was the plan until her mother's phoe rang.
Helen stepped away from Ashley's bed and answered her phone. "Hello, Helen Magnus here."
"Magnus, it's Scott. We have a situation here in Scotland, the werewolves have gotten out of hand."
Ashley watched her mother walk out of the room and sighed. So much for her fun birthday vacation. Every year this happened, it's not like she didn't enjoy capturing abnormals she just liked spending normal time with her mother more. Ashley pulled out her vacation clothes from her bag and replaced them with her fighting leather and black clothes and her weapons.
"Scott can't you deal with it. I promised Ashley that I would take her to Rome."
"I'm sorry Helen but we don't have the manpower or the skill to deal with the situation."
"Alright, I will be in Scotland soon." Helen hung up the phone and walked back into the room. Her daughter was repacking her bag with her fighting stuff. She hated to do this to Ashley again, every year something happened and they couldn't go on their planned vacation. Even though Ashley didn't say anything Helen knew it bothered her. The last time they had spent one of her birthdays on vacation just the two of them was when Ashley had turned 14 and that vacation had been cut short because of an emergency at the Berlin Sanctuary.
"Where are we going this time." Ashley stopped packing and looked up at her mother.
"I'm sorry...We are going to Scotland. Scott has been having problems with the werewolves." Helen watched her daughter nod and go back to packing her things. "I'm so sorry sweetheart." Helen waited for a minute and then turned to leave but stopped. "I'll make it up to you I promise."
Ashley looked up at her mother and forced a smile. "It's ok Mom, really." Ashley watched her mother leave then went to look out the window. "Another ruined birthday." Ashley whispers to herself.

Java Green Cafe
Liz: (sitting at a table in Java Green Cafe drinking a cup of coffee) Come on Ace. Just go out with him once, just once. Please.
Ace: (sitting across from Liz drinking tea) Fine I will go out with him but only once. And the only reason is because you’re my friend and if I don’t you’ll bother me until I do. (Smiles at Liz)
Liz: (laughs) You’ve got that right. (looks at her watch) We better get to work or Aubrey will be mad. (stands up and puts her coat on)
Ace: (stands up and puts her coat and gloves on) Alright let’s go.
FBI Federal Work building
Liz: (her and Ace walk through the doors of the building and through security) Max will pick you up at eight tonight. (walks away smiling)
Ace: (smiles and shakes her head walking in the opposite direction of Liz. She walks to an elevator and gets in there is another man in the elevator) Hello, Max.
Max: (smiling) Hello Ace, how are you?
Ace: Fine thank you for asking.
Max: (nervously) Um, are we still on for tonight?
Ace: (smiles) Yes.
Max: (the elevator doors open) This is my stop. (walks out and a woman walks in.)
Aubrey: Good morning Ace, I wish you would stop intimidating Max so much. (smiles at Ace)
Ace: (chuckles) I will try ma’am. I really will. (elevator doors open) After you ma’am.
Aubrey: (walks out and Ace follows) How is the case going on our mystery killer?
Ace: (a woman walks up to Ace and hands her a stack of papers) Very well, I think by the end of the week we will have caught him. (starts to scan the stack of papers) I’m sorry ma’am but I have an urgent matter to attend to.
Aubrey: Alright go do your work. (Ace nods and walks away. Aubrey walks into her office and there is a man sitting in her chair. Aubrey looks up a little mad and also surprised) And you are who and why are you sitting in my chair?
Parker: (stands up) Sorry miss, I’m Colonel Parker. Brigadier General Edwards was my commander when she was in the Air Force. I have come to check on how she is doing here at the FBI.
Aubrey: (sits at her desk) If I may ask Colonel Parker why do you ask about Agent Edwards?
Parker: (sighs) The president wants to know if she is still as good a mediator as she was when she was in the Air Force. He knows that she and I were once very close, he thought I would be best for the task.
Aubrey: I think she is still the best mediator around. She is also one of my very best agents for having worked here only a few months. (pause) She has moved up our positions very quickly.
Parker: (smiles) She has a tendency to do that ma’am.
Aubrey: (someone knocks on the door) Excuse me, yes.
Ace: (enters the room) Ma’am Director Wagner needs you. (notices Parker and smiles) Parker is that really you?
Aubrey: (stands up and picks up some papers) I will leave you two to catch up with eachother. (leaves the room and closes the door behind her.)
Parker: (smiles) Brigadier General Edwards.
Ace: (laughs) You can call me Ace, after all we are friends. We are still friends right.
Parker: (surprised) Yes, of course.
Ace: (smiles) I’m messing with you Parker. So how have you been.
Parker: I’ve been well Ace and you.
Ace: I miss the Air Force but I like it here. (pause) So why are here.
Parker: The President wanted me to check on you and she if you were still the best at what you do. And it seems you are.
Ace: (chuckles) When you report back to my father tell him he can always call or come visit me. Anche gli dico che ti amo.
Parker: (smiles) I see you can still speak Italian fluently. (pause) I should get going.
Ace: I hope to see you soon. (hugs Parker and opens the door) Tell my sister I said hello. (Parker nods and leaves. Ace sighs and goes back to work.)
Ace’s home
Ace: (doorbell rings) Be right there. (grabs her coat and opens the front door)
Max: Wow, you look amazing. (Ace closes and locks her front door and then follows Max to his car.)
Ace: (turns to one of the suited me standing by the front door) Blake I will probably be back late tonight so don’t worry about me.
Blake: (smiles) Don’t worry ma’am we won’t. (Ace glares at Blake then smiles and gets in the car. Max gets in the driver’s side and they pull out of Ace’s gated home.)
Max: (after a few minutes) We are going to Tosca’s if that’s alright with you.
Ace: That is fine Max. (they ride in silence until they get to the restaurant. They park and go into the restaurant and get seated. Two men in suits follow them where every they go.)
Max: So (motioning to the two suited men) are they going to be with us the whole time?
Ace: (nods) Unfortunately yes, they are for my protection. (Ace’s cell phone rings and she looks at who is calling) I’m sorry Max I have to answer this. (Stands up and walks to the corner of the restaurant. One of the men starts toward her and she waves him off. After a minute she hangs up the phone and returns to the table.) I am truly sorry Max but we are going to have to reschedule. (Puts on her coat and Max stands up)
Max: Is everything ok.
Ace: (looks at Max) I’m not quite sure yet. (motions for the men to come and they walk over to the table.) John please make sure Mr. Lawrence gets home alright. JT we are going to see my father.
JT: Yes ma’am.
Ace: (walks to a black SUV with JT and gets in the back, JT gets in the driver’s side.) JT, I need to get to the White House as soon as possible.
JT: Yes, ma’am. (starts to drive away)
Ace: (takes out her phone and dials a number, a woman answers the phone) Aubrey, I won’t be at work tomorrow.
Aubrey: (over the phone) I know Ace, I was informed about 15 minutes ago.
Ace: (calmly) Please make sure my team is notified.
Aubrey: Will do Ace, take care. (Ace hangs up the phone and after a few minutes they arrive at the White house)
Billings: (opens the car door for Ace and helps her out) Ma’am your father is waiting in the Green room with our guests.
Ace: Thank you Billings. (walks inside with Ace and hands Ace’s jacket to a maid. They walk to the green room.)
Edwards: (sitting in the green room, across from him are three people. Two men and one woman. He addresses one of the men.) High Counselor Balefire this is my daughter, Abigail, Ace to most people.
Balefire: (looks at Ace) Hello Ace, it is nice to meet you.
Ace: (looks at her father then at Balefire) It is a pleasure to meet you as well, High Counselor.
Edwards: (clears his throat) Ace this is Balefire’s son Theron (the young man to Balefire’s right bows) and that is Aura (the woman to Balefire’s left nods her head) they are both part of the High Counselors personal guard. I have told the High Counselor that you are one of our top mediators.
Balefire: And I have asked the President if you would be the mediator between my people, the Celestials, and your people.
Ace: Celestials?
Theron: Celestial was the first ruler of my people. My people were named after her. (pause) From what I have seen of your world, it is much like ours. (stares at Ace)
Balefire: (looks at Ace) I have asked the President but I would also like to ask you to be our mediator.
Ace: (smiles at Balefire) I would be honored.
Balefire: Wonderful, (pause) if the president will let you I would like you to come aboard my command ship.
Ace: (smiles) That would be great.
Theron: (questionly) Father, (nods his head) yes father. (looks at Ace) Please follow me.
Ace: Father. (nods at Edwards and follows Theron out of the room and towards a group of people standing at the end of the hall.)
Art: (steps forward when Ace and Theron approach the group of people) Sir.
Theron: The High Counselor would like me to give…(hesitates)
Ace: (looks and Theron and smiles) Agent Edwards.
Theron: Agent Edwards on a tour of the command ship.
Art: (nods) Yes, sir. (talks on a headset and a beam of light appears in front of them and Ace takes a step back.)
Theron: (chuckles) Don’t worry it’s safe. (takes Ace’s hand and they walk into the beam of light with Ace.)
Ace: (they appear in a medium sized white room) Wow. (trips and Theron catches her)
Theron: (laughs and helps Ace sit down in a chair) The dizziness will disappear momentarily. (does to the wall and opens a door, he takes out a black and red jacket and black pants and hands it to Ace) This will help you blend in more and I thought it would be more comfortable than your dress.
Ace: Thank you.
Theron: I will stand outside the door while you change. (nods and goes to stand outside the door while Ace gets changed.)
Ace: I’m done. (Theron and Ace start to walk and they walk into a large room with many floors and people in it, the people they pass stare at Ace. Ace glances around) Are all these people staring at me?
Theron: Yes, my people have not seen an outsider in quite a while. (takes Ace’s hand and pulls her closer to him) Please stay near me, for your own safety. (awkwardly lets go of Ace’s hand.)
Ace: (they continue walking, Ace is looking around amazed) This place is amazing.
Theron: Our first stop is the command deck. (leads Ace to an elevator and they get in. the elevator doors open and they walk into a large room with about a dozen people in it and a lot of fancy computers and equipment, Emily is in the middle of the room shouting out orders.) Mother.
Emily: Katherine, contact the high counselor and ask him what he wants me to do. (Katherine walks out of the room)
Theron: (he and Ace walk toward Emily and a few of the people in the room stop to stare at Ace then go back to work.) Mother, this is Ace she is the daughter of President Edwards.
Emily: (looks at Ace and smiles at her then turns back to one of the monitors) Jacob how close is his ship?
Jacob: One hundred clicks, ma’am.
Emily: (shakes her head) Damn.
Theron: (steps closer to Emily, confused) Mother, what is going on?
Emily: (looks up at Theron) He found us.
Theron: (upset and angry) Can we kill him this time?
Emily: If the High Counselor approves.
Theron: (thinking) Do it. (Emily hesitates) When my father isn’t here I am in charge and
I say to do it.
Ace: (confused) Who are you talking about?
Katherine: (rushes into the room out of breath) He says to do it.
Theron: (sarcastically) There you go, our confirmation. (Emily turns and begins to give orders. Theron turns to Katherine.) Katherine this is Ace. Ace my sister Katherine. (Ace and Katherine shake hands.) In answer to your earlier question the person on that ship is called Zeus. Zeus was our leader, he went power hungry and became uncontrollable. My father and many others rose up against him and fought for a new high counselor. Zeus became upset and before leaving he planted a bomb that blew up our planet. Then he simply disappeared.
Man: (watches Emily give the order to shoot the ship) No! (lunges toward Theron with a knife)
Ace: (pushes Theron out of the way and the man stabs Ace in the stomack. Other men rush at the man and knock him to the ground. Ace falls and Theron catches her) Ow. (coughs and tries to smile) That hurt. (Ace coughs up blood)
Theron: Someone get the medic.

Superhero story
Opening-(all the superhero's are fighting Minstro's minions. It is winter and it is also snowing.)
Superman-(fighting off a giant snow leopard and a giant bear. Yells to Wonder Woman) Wonder Woman help Batman.
Wonder Woman-(nodds and flies off toward Batman and Robin. They are fighting a giant gorilla. Wonder Woman is attacked by a giant eagle)
Switch-(somewhere inside the building Black Hawk is in a room with Carrie. A giant snow leopard is banging at the door and nocks down the door. The snow leopard attacks Black Hawk and Carrie starts to cry.)
Black Hawk-(throws the snow leopard across the room and turns to Carrie) I won't let anything happen to you. I promise. (turns back to the leopard and kills it. A giant bear comes into the room and throws Hawk against the wall, she has a gash in her shoulder and stomack, she falls to the ground unconsious. The bear turns to Carrie who is screaming and picks her up and walks out of the room)
Switch-(back to the battle field, some of the animals are retreating, two take fallen hero's with them)
Hawkman-(kills one of the animals and yells to superman) They have Carrie!
Superman-(looks up) No! (kills an animal and yells to Flash) Go see if Black Hawk is ok. (Flash nodds and runs off, superman starts to fly toward the animal carrying Carrie.

Opening(Memory) Battlefield soldiers are fighting and screaming Switch to a woman in armor on a horse. She is in front of a group of men who are not in the fight, she has her hand up in the air and is holding the men steady. She throws down her hand and the men charge forward yelling.
Natalie Charge! Kicks the sides of her horse and goes galloping forward. She pulls out a sword and starts to cut down enemy after enemy

My Story
THIS IS MY STORY SO FAR
Main Characters
Richard – Father Cara – Aunt and Mother
Kahlan – Mother Ben – Uncle, Father, Cara’s Husband
Callisto – Richard and Kahlan’s daughter Esmeralda – Cara and Ben’s oldest daughter
Callista – Richard and Kahlan’s daughter Eva – Cara and Ben’s youngest daughter
Zedd – Grandfather Gabrielle – Richard’s Sister, Aunt
Richard and I were in the woods searching for Cara and Ban to tell them the good news. We were getting married and having a baby.
“Richard where do you think they are?” I asked as I looked around the forest in search of Cara and Ben. I was worried we hadn’t heard or seen them in days.
“Don’t worry they said that they were going to start for the Palace,” Richard comforted me. “Remember they wanted to have their baby at the Palace so Gabrielle, Zedd, you and I could be there?”
“Oh right,” I said while deep in thought. I was thinking about where we would have our baby. “Well at least we will be able to be married as soon as possible since everyone will already be there. Unless you want to get married somewhere else?” I looked over at him and reached to pull him close. He leaned down to kiss me.
“No, the palace is fine,” he said as he kissed me. “Especial since we have a baby to get ready for, Kahlan?” He said as he wrapped his arms around me.
“Yes, Richard?” I said in between his kisses forgetting everything and concentrating on him.
“I love you and I always will,” he said quietly. We fell to the ground laughing and kissing.
“I love you too, Richard.” I panted as we kissed. I knew we wouldn’t be getting any closer to the place tonight.
It was a warm moist night and at the Palace there was a big commotion going on. “Ben! The baby is coming,” Cara screamed as she lay on her bed at the Palace. She had waited for this moment for a long time but now she just wanted it over with.
“Alright darling it’s ok,” Ben answers her with a hint of panic in his voice. He doesn’t know how to deliver a baby.
“Ben,” Gabrielle says softly as she walks into the room, “it is going to be ok. I know how to deliver a baby, Cara will be fine. “Cara, I need you to push for me ok?”
“Alright,” I whispered quietly. Right know I would listen to anyone as long as it gets my baby out safe.
“Ben I need you to go get me some towels,” Gabrielle tells him, “NOW!” She yells when he hesitates as Cara screams. Ben rushes out of the room and down the hall. He runs down the steps and to the kitchen. Where he can find the towels. As he is running back toward the room he hears Cara scream and then a baby cry.
“Here are the towels,” he says as he hands Gabrielle the towels and kneels by Cara smoothing my hair. He kisses me and tells me quietly that everything was alright.
“Gabrielle what is it a boy or a girl?” I asked impatiently. Gabrielle hands me my baby and I unwrap the towels from around it. “It’s a girl.”
“Esmeralda,” Ben says quietly almost a whisper. He reaches down to touch his daughter and kisses Cara. “Darling she is beautiful just like you.” Cara smiles at him and returns the kiss.
“Cara, Ben; Richard and Kahlan are on their way here one of the lookouts said they just spotted them.
